Public urged to report malicious scam

by isleofman.com 2nd September 2014

Police are hunting the original sender of what they describe as a 'malicious and nasty' email money scam.

The scam involves threats of violence along with demands for large amounts of money.

Investigating officer Constable Kelly Wilkinson said: 'I'd like to hear from any person who may have received similar emails. I would urge members of the public not to worry about this scam but to simply be proactive by contacting the police and reporting it. I would strongly recommend that any person who receives such an email, not to reply to it. The police are taking this matter seriously and are actively working towards identifying the original sender.'
