by isleofman.com 1st September 2014
A teenager who died in a car crash did so after suffering serious head injuries, an inquest has heard today.
17 year old Brad Campbell of Groudle Road in Onchan died in a car crash at Ploydwell Cottage on Foxdale Road in the early hours of August 24.
This afternoon, Coroner of Inquests Jayne Hughes opened and adjourned the hearing into his death.
She heard evidence from paramedics who were first at the scene, who told the court they found Mr Campbell, an apprentice plumber, in the back seat of the car.
The court heard Mr Campbell was a passenger in the car, and was unresponsive when medical help arrived at the scene of the crash.
A post-mortem examination by consultant pathologist Dr Ervine Long concluded Mr Campbell had died from multiple injuries.
Mrs Hughes adjourned the case to a date to be fixed and released Mr Campbell’s body for burial.
She also passed on her condolences to his family, who were represented in court during today’s proceedings.Clip 1
