Government assessing Steam Packet reliability

A reliable, safe shipping service to and from the Island is essential for both the travelling public and the business community.

That from the chief minister, after a period in which the Steam Packet Company has been criticised for a lack of reliability.

Technical difficulties on its fastcraft Manannan have led to a series of delays and extended crossing times, along with a handful of cancellations.

Allan Bell says government officials are in regular dialogue with the company.
