Rider dies in race crash

by isleofman.com 29th August 2014

A rider from Yorkshire was killed during today's Senior MGP.

Gary Firth, aged 50, was from Barnsley and was a newcomer to racing on the mountain course. He died in an incident at the 11th Milestone and the race was immediately red flagged. The race was not re-started and the reunion lap planned for after the racing has been cancelled.

The Manx Motor Cycle Club has passed on its deepest sympathy to Gary's family and friends. An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is under way.
