Cavendish back in the winning routine

by isleofman.com 27th August 2014
Mark Cavendish got back to winning ways with a trademark sprint finish in the opening stage of the Tour du Poitou-Charentes in France on Tuesday.
The Manx Missile produced a devastating burst to take the victory ahead of Daniel Maxime and seize control of the leader’s jersey.
It was his first victory since returning from a shoulder injury sustained on the opening stage of the Tour de France last month.
The tour continues until Friday.
Cavendish is hoping to compete in next month’s Tour of Britain (September 7-14).
Fellow Manxman Peter Kennaugh was 98th overall in Tuesday’s fourth stage of the Tour of Spain.
