Merseyside police helped Steam Packet passengers

by isleofman.com 27th August 2014
Merseyside Police says a number of their officers were called out on Monday night to help find accommodation for around 500 Steam Packet Company passengers.
Technical problems meant the Manannan’s sailing on Monday evening had to be cancelled – but passengers say they’d been aboard for almost four hours before they were informed.
The sheer number of passengers meant police had to close the main road outside the Pier Head for safety reasons.
The force’s press office says a number of people had been drinking, but no arrests were made.
