A passenger watchdog body says it has some sympathy for the Steam Packet Company – describing problems with the Manannan as a “nightmare scenario”.
Travelwatch says the mechanical problems which have plagued the vessel over the past few days have come at one of the busiest times of year, with thousands of people arriving for the Festival of Motorcycling.
Dick Clague says that’s meant more inconvenience for passengers than would otherwise be the case in quieter periods.
