Packet CEO explains Manannan problems

by isleofman.com 26th August 2014
The Steam Packet fastcraft Manannan is still in Liverpool this morning, after a frustrating night for passengers.
What the company described as a ‘technical problem’ with one of the vessel’s engines led to a significant delay and subsequent cancellation of the scheduled 8.30pm sailing to Douglas last night.
Frustrated passengers have contacted Manx Radio after being forced to wait on board until between 10.45pm and 11.45pm, then were offered a choice of overnight accommodation or limited availability on the overnight Heysham sailing.
The latest technical difficulty to affect the Manannan has also led to the cancellation of today’s Isle of Man-Belfast service.
Steam Packet Chief Executive Mark Woodward gave this update live on Mandate earlier:Clip 1
