by isleofman.com 24th August 2014

Race organisers have confirmed that a rider was killed during Friday night's Manx Grand Prix practice session.

Tim Moorhead from Whitstable in Kent died after an incident just before the Black hut on the mountain section of the course at about 8.05pm. Mr Moorhead, 50, who was married, had made his MGP debut in 2012.

In a statement, the Manx Motor Cycle Club said an investigation into the circumstances of the accident was under way and expressed sympathy to his family and friends.
