by isleofman.com 23rd August 2014
The first race of this year’s Festival of Motorcycling saw plenty of drama this afternoon.

John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Ryan Farquhar and Michael Rutter all retired during the 500cc Classic – which eventually saw Ian Lougher take first place.

Dan Cooper came in second, 34.4 seconds later, with Bruce Anstey in third.

Tim Glover describes the moment Lougher managed to overcome a 30-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane to take victory:Clip 1
