Police appeal before racing starts

Police are urging drivers and motorcyclists to take it easy on the Mountain Road today.

As more and more bike fans arrive on the Island in time for the start of racing in the Festival of Motorcycling tomorrow, officers say they’ll be out and about today.

With good weather forecast, Sergeant Allan Thompson of the Roads Policing Unit says he’s expecting a busy day.

But he’s asking road users to drive and ride cautiously:
