The Claremont hotel is celebrating the conferral of a prestigious international award after winning the ‘Isle of Man’s Leading Hotel 2014’ at the annual World Travel Awards.

The awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.
The annual programme is renowned as the most prestigious and comprehensive in the travel and tourism industry.
In 2013, over 500,000 individual votes were cast by travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers.

The WTA award comes following a series of four multi-million pound refurbishment phases which have seen the central Douglas hotel transformed to a global standard.

General Manager Ricardo Campos says, "It is an honour to have been recognised in this manner by what is considered one of the global industry’s most prestigious awarding bodies.
