Horse trams suspension

by isleofman.com 20th August 2014

Members of the public are being invited to see behind the scenes of the horse tram service.

Douglas Corporation has organised a tour of the tramway stables at the end of the season. The event is being held to mark the suspension of the horse tram service to accommodate major refurbishment works on Douglas promenade.

The 2014 season could be the last when the trams run up and down the centre of the road. It's proposed to move to a single track alongside the promenade.

The season ends on Sunday September 14, when people can visit the stables opposite Queen's Promenade from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
