Tom Harris won the Harding Lewis Ltd-sponsored club championship at an exceedingly blustery Castletown Golf Links on Sunday.
Harris, who is just starting the third year of a golf scholarship at University of Maryland in the United States, was level pegging with Steven Boyd after their first round scores of 71.
Boyd was blown away and failed to finish whereas Harris hung on to win the title with a seven over par second round of 79.
Harris’s club championship total of 150 (six over par) equalled the overall competition standard scratch (74 + 76) and was two clear of runner-up Jonathan Corke, who carded a 77 to add to his earlier 75.
