St John Ambulance Isle of Man is offering FREE first aid sessions to members of the public to raise awareness of the importance of first aid.
Our aim is to equip people with basic first aid skills they could use to be the difference between life and death.
The charity is offering 1000 free 2 hour first aid sessions at various places on the island.
What is 2 hours, it is a trip to the cinema, it’s sitting with your mates down the local, it’s a shopping trip, but it is also all you need to learn how to save a life.
“We believe that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it” says Phil Bennett, Commercial training and marketing manager for St John Ambulance Isle of Man, “ which is why we are running this Save a Life 1000 campaign.
“By holding these 2 hour first aid sessions around the island we hope to reach as many people as possible in their local community, so that more people are equipped with the skills to save a life.
Anyone who needs first aid should get it and armed with this knowledge we can all be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.”
Nothing is more tragic than a life lost needlessly.
Every year, too many children and adults die in situations where first aid could have given them the chance to live. Yet fewer than one in 10 people have been trained in these vital life saving skills.
These sessions are open to individual members of the public.
The first session and launch of this scheme is at Eurocars Renault Darcia showroom on Peel Road, Douglas on Wednesday 3 September 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
