Castletown venue for police meeting

by isleofman.com 14th August 2014

The second in a series of public meetings about police cutbacks takes place tonight.

The south is one of the areas worst affected by major budget cuts, with the closure of a police station. Overall, the number of officers in the force is being cut by 11 per cent.

However, there was a poor turnout at the first public meeting on Monday, held in Douglas. Tonight's meeting is at the civic centre in Castletown and gets under way at 7pm.

Chief Constable Gary Roberts and Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson will be answering questions from the public.
