Unemployment marginally up in the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 13th August 2014
Unemployment rose last month – an extra 16 people signed on in July, meaning 934 people on the Island are now without jobs.
The total means 2.1 per cent of the Island’s economically active population are out of work.
The increase comes after months of it falling.
Government statistics show both construction and catering created the most jobs over the course of the month.
But the news isn’t so good for those in senior roles – the number of managers out of work leapt by almost a third, from 17 to 25 last month.
