Fire at Port Jack store

by isleofman.com 12th August 2014
Fire crews in Douglas had to deal with a shop fire yesterday (Mon 11th)
The call out came just after 3.30pm after reports of a electrical fault at the Spar stores in Port Jack.
When crews arrived they found the property heavily smoke logged with a blaze in a store room at the end of the property.
Manx utilities staff cut off power supplies to the store and a second unit was called to help extinguish the fire . . which was contained within the store room.
The property was then ventilated and checked for hot-spots before crews left the scene at around 7.30pm.
Some properties in the area lost their power supplies for a time while the incident was dealt with.
There were no injuries reported.
