Ynchreenoo show dogs, based in Maughold, enjoyed great success at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show.
The Manx show team of Pharaoh Hounds and Chinese Cresteds picked up Best in Show during Friday’s Open Dog Show with two-year-old Pharaoh Hound Vaskurs Linford Christie Skumpanson at Ynchreenoo (pet name Muddy), owned by Sam Fletcher and Laura Merryweather. It is the second year in a row Ynchreenoo has taken Best in Show with a Pharaoh Hound at the Royal, claiming victory in 2013 with Ch Islephar Strike a Pose at Ynchreenoo.
Reserve Best In Show was a Kerry Blue Terrier Michuladh Edge of Glory at Dollagh owned by Stuart Earle and Liz Kelly. Third Best in Show went to Denise Simpson’s Ch Pyroni Valentino of Baldhoon Pyrenean Mountain Dog and fourth Best in Show was the Sheltie Conorvean Tonkin owned by Meg McCourt and Gill Hayes and shown by Mandy Quayle.
There was more joy for Ynchreenoo with the Best Puppy in Show title for the Chinese Crested Ynchreenoo Condoo, owned by Mr Fletcher and Miss Merryweather. Reserve Best Puppy in Show was Afinmore Airs and Graces owned by Stella Crellin.
There were 125 dogs entered for the show, and the judge was Hound specialist Irene Horner from the UK.
Ynchreenoo show team has achieved some fantastic results over the last month in the UK, most recently winning the Bitch CC with Vaskurs Elizabet Swann Qonjacdotter at Ynchreenoo (Rainey), who they co-own with professional handler Liz Dunhill and her daughter Michaella Dunhill-Hall, and Dog CC and BOB with Vaskurs Linford Christie Skumpanson at Ynchreenoo (Muddy) at Leeds Championship show under Pharaoh Hound Breed Specialist Sheila Simm. Muddy was also shortlisted in the Hound Group under judge Espen Engh (Norway). They also won under Pharaoh Hound breed specialist Bob Moore at the Houndshow, Champion Islephar Strike a Pose at Ynchreenoo won the BCC and Vaskurs Linford Christie Skumpan at Ynchreenoo won the Reserve Dog CC.
