by isleofman.com 10th August 2014
In the year the Island celebrates its Year of Culture, the Education Minister is in Edinburgh for a special summit.
Tim Crookall will attend the city’s International Culture Summit which starts today (Sun) at the Scottish Parliament.
He’ll take part in a series of discussions and debates around the theme ‘Culture – A Currency of Trust’.
It aims to show how arts and culture can build bridges of understanding between nations, states and cities.
Mr Crookall will join Culture Ministers and leading arts and culture experts from around the world to discuss the importance of cultural exchange.
The summit takes place of course during the largest annual celebration of arts in the world – Edinburgh’s summer festivals.
A stellar line-up of speakers includes Nandi Mandela, the granddaughter of Nelson Mandela and Irina Bokova, the director general of UNESCO.
