by isleofman.com 8th August 2014

Rowany Golf Club's Tom Gandy remains in contention after round two of the International European Amateur Championship, which is being held at The Dukes course, St Andrews.
Out in level par for the front nine, Gandy dropped a couple of shots on the back nine to make him now 142 for 36 holes, one of five players on that score, after his first round 69.
This puts him just four shots behind the leaders Lauri Ruuska, Renato Paratore, Ben Stow and Gary Hurley.
One player is on 139 with just the one 140 being recorded.
He tees off today at 2.10pm in the company of Joao Carllota who after an opening 79 had the lowest round of the tournament with a 64 and is now 143.
All 142 players left in the competition contest the third round, after which a cut will take place, meaning only the top 60 will play the final round.
The winner gains automatic entry into next year's Open Championship.
