The TT course will be closed all day on Saturday August 23 to allow for an extra practice session in this year's Festival of Motorcycling.
The government says the move is necessary because of an increase in competitors for the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT races. Roads will now close at 9.30am on August 23, instead of noon.
Crossing points around the course are scheduled to open between 2.30pm and 3.15pm.
David Cretney MHK said: 'We appreciate that road racing on the Island can only go ahead with the goodwill of the local people and are very grateful for their continued support. The Festival's success in attracting a higher number of competitors has necessitated this move to ensure that adequate practice time is allocated.
'The Festival makes a significant contribution to the Island's visitor economy, not only through competitors but also the significantly increasing number of visitors.’
