Scottish Journalist tests Manx independence mood

A Scottish journalist has visited the Isle of Man as part of a research project ahead of the Scottish referendum.
In just over six weeks time the Scottish public will go to the polls to vote on independence.
Adam Ramsay, co-editor of Our Kingdom, the UK section of opendemocracy.net, is touring Cornwall, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man to look at the different levels of independence the areas either have, or are campaigning for.

He will produce a series of articles in the next few weeks, reviewing his findings in the context of the independence debate in his home nation.
Whilst Adam is a staunch ‘yes’ voter, he believes if Scotland votes against independence, its politicians and citizens can still learn from the Isle of Man’s unique position in the future:
