Tributes paid to crash victim

Tributes are being paid to a physiotherapist who died in a road accident in Kirk Michael on Monday evening.
Forty-one-year-old Kate Burge worked for the Department of Health and Social Care.
She was involved in an incident with a blue Range Rover at around 6pm on Monday on the main road in the village.
Despite efforts to save her, she died at the scene.
The Department of Health and Social Care has extended its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Kate Burge.
Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Therapies at Noble’s Hospital, Bev Critchlow, says: “Kate was a valued and much loved member of staff.
"Her commitment and dedication to her patients always shone through and her loss will come as a shock to many in the Health Service, not least her close colleagues in the Physiotherapy Department.
"We are so sad.
"All of our thoughts are with Kate’s family, friends and close colleagues at this difficult time.”
Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle, says: “I was deeply saddened when I heard the news of Kate’s death.
"I would like to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to Kate’s family and we will do all we can to support them as well as Kate’s colleagues within the Department who are understandably shocked and deeply saddened by the news."
