The Microgaming Health & Care Trust has made a ?5,000 donation to support the inspirational film project, Him Upstairs.

Produced by Little Sky Productions, Him Upstairs was co-written by an Isle of Man resident Sonya Quayle and Liverpool based Neil Mooney.

It won the award for The Best Unproduced Screenplay at the British Independent Film Festival in 2013 and the script went on to attract a highly talented group of actors; Ricky Tomlinson and Gwen Taylor play devoted husband and wife, Frank and Margaret, and Kieron Richardson and Michelle Butterly take supporting roles as Margaret’s visitors.

Inspired by the script and keen to get involved, the Microgaming Health & Care Trust has donated ?5,000 to support the post-production of the short film, which involves editing and audio. Once the final edit is complete, it is hoped the short film will be entered on to the film festival circuit, where the team have high hopes for more awards and recognition.

It’s an important and heart-warming story which we are thrilled to be telling.”

What’s brilliant about this short film is that it will reach an extensive audience, appealing to both the older and younger generation, covering topics which aren’t necessarily easy to talk about. With post-production underway, we can’t wait to see this thought-provoking short film when it is released in September!”

Him Upstairs is set for cast and crew screenings on the Island in September and Liverpool in October. It will be entered on to the film festival circuit at the same time and be available for the public viewing soon after.
