Kayleigh Dawson played in the Junior Ramsey Town Cup and in the absence of her cousins easily took the top prizes for the girls with a net 79.
She played alongside Ramsey Ball and Alex McAuley who had an exciting tussle as they tried to win the boy’s prize in the face of some stiff competition from higher handicapped players.
Ramsey’s tee shot into the trees on the 8th and some steady play from Alex meant he had the advantage at the turn, but Ramsey held his nerve and managed 3rd place overall with Alex slipping back in the closing holes - but both posted good gross scores.
The Cup was a close run-in with Tommy Fenlon scoring a gross 76, net 69 and just losing out to Jay Waters who posted an excellent net 67. His win was not without its problems and the errant tee shot on the 15 resulted in a 7.
Jay was totally focused on recovery and an excellent chip onto the green on the 16th resulted in a par which probably won him the Cup.
Sam Corlett’s 49 points easily won the +28 handicap division.
