Peter Kennaugh in heroic games effort.

by isleofman.com 3rd August 2014
An heroic effort by Manxman Peter Kennaugh came to naught in Glasgow as , with under fifty kilometres to go, he was caught by those few riders who remained in the sodden Commonwealth Games road race.
Kennaugh took the lead almost immediately and for 100 kilometres held it with a gap at some stages of approaching 2 minutes.
However, what remained of the pelaton gritted their collective teeth, went for it and caught the Manxman.
Kennaugh was spent and couldn't stay with the leaders but rode home to a brave 8th place:-Clip 1
