Athlete Keith Gerrard admitted he was frustrated with his performance in last night’s men’s 10,000 metres final at Hampden Park.
The Peel man produced a valiant Commonwealth Games effort, eventually having to settle for 22nd spot – completing the race in a time of 29 minutes 46.85seconds.
After initially keeping pace, Gerrard eased back in the latter part of the race and admitted he had been hampered by injury in the build-up.
Gerrard had the Isle of Man logo on the back of his shirt covered up throughout the race.
It’s understood officials thought it was too large, a decision which prompted criticism from BBC commentator Steve Cram.Clip 1
