Relief over scrapped wind farm plans

by isleofman.com 1st August 2014
The Chairman of TravelWatch Isle of Man is expressing surprise that plans for a huge wind farm off the Welsh coast have been scrapped.

It was announced yesterday that energy companies Dong and Centrica have dropped plans for the Rhiannon project for 440 turbines.

Amonst those opposing the original scheme was the Steam Packet Compant who warned about severe delays and cancellations in bad weather because of the lack of alternative routes.

Chairman of TravelWatch Brendan O'Friel is delighted at the initial news but is urging caution:-Clip 1
