Farming industry gears up for major show

A great Manx institution, the Royal Manx Agricultural Show is due to take place next weekend - Friday August 8 and Saturday August 9- at Knockaloe Farm in Patrick.

The event, between 9am and 5pm on each day, promises to be a fantastic family day out. Tickets are ?6 on Friday the 8th and ?8 on Saturday the 9th, and ?1 for children aged 4 -14.

Visitors will get the opportunity to find out about the best in farming and catch up with the latest equipment, as well as enjoy show rings, craft displays, classic cars and vintage vehicles, trade stands and the finest Manx produce at the popular food court.

Youngster Alex Masson, pictured, is taking part in the calf handlers' competition on the Friday showday.
