The Annual Albany Senior Open tournament sponsored by Chrystals Estate Agents starts on Saturday 2 August  with a full programme of Men’s/Women’s Singles and Doubles and Mixed Doubles. In the men’s singles the entry is good and will therefore be run on the ratings system with  group 1 players working to qualify to progress to the tableau stage with our top rated players. Group 1 will also be played to a final. We will be running a raffle during this event all proceeds to the court –re-surfacing. Finals Day is Saturday 9 August
With presentation of prizes by Shane Magee of Chrystals timed for 4pm.

Notice to ALL members – the court re-surfacing starts 11 August  sometime after 3pm on court one. courts 2 and 3 would be available all day. From Tuesday  only the indoor court will be available. The committee have reduced cost to ?8 per hour for the duration of the work on the other courts. You will still need book on line but put the money, preferably cheques in either collecting box with a slip stating day and time. You won’t be able to pay the reduced fee on line. There will be limited parking whilst work is in progress.

The Summer Camps run by our coach Ian Watson have been very popular with up to 25 children attending some sessions.  These finish this week and normal club coaching will re-start after the school holidays. More details on dates and times will be announced later.

We are still looking for a new editor for the club’s newsletter, Tramlines, which has been issued 3 or 4 times a year. There is a format for this and all we need is someone with computer skills who would collate various news items. Contact me by e-mail albanytennispr@manx.net  if you feel willing and able to fill the post.
