Island records tumble at Glasgow pool

Guy Davies has smashed another Island swimming record at the Tollcross Pool on day two of competition at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

In a 100m Breaststroke heat alongside Scottish swimmers Ross Murdoch and Michael Jamieson he clocked 1 minute 5.92 seconds to take a second and a half off his previous best.

However, it wasn't good enough to make the semi-finals as he finished 20th out of 34 swimmers.

Alex Bregazzi has broken the Island Senior and Junior records in finishing 23rd out of 37 swimmers in the 200m Freestyle.

He won his heat in a time of 1 minute 56.49 seconds.

it's his 16th birthday tomorrow.

And the Men's Freestyle 100m Relay team blew apart a long-standing 2002 record by over 7 seconds when clocking a time of 3 minutes 37.31 seconds.

Laura Kinley missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals of the 50m Freestyle with a time of 27.34 seconds for 25th place out of 57 competitors.
