Laxey miners sculpture

by isleofman.com 9th July 2014

A major work of art for the village of Laxey is under construction - on the other side of the world. A statue of a Laxey miner is being created by master stone crafter Ongky Wijana to stand on a plinth at the end of Mines Road. The funding has come from a bequest from a deceased member of the community who wished to remain anonymous.
