Top Darts Night Set to Return to the Island

by isleofman.com 15th July 2014
Some of the world’s best professional darts players will be on show when the Isle of Man Darts Classic returns to Douglas in September.

The eagerly anticipated event, which saw a capacity crowd flock to the Villa Marina last year, has a bumper field of six top arrows aces of past and present.

James Wade, who has won seven major titles, Australian ace Simon Whitlock, the world number four, and former world number one Peter Manley will be joined by former World Champions Martin Adams and Mark Webster, with the another major winner, Paul Nicholson, completing the star-studded line-up.

The professionals will compete against local Manx challengers and former European Champion Whitlock, who appeared in the inaugural staging last year, is looking forward to coming back.

He said: “I’m really excited about being part of the Isle of Man classic again. I had a great time last year.”

“At these non-televised events you never know what to expect but the crowd were amazing so I’m hoping for the same again.”

“The line-up is fantastic and I always look forward to taking on the other top pros as it adds that extra spice and competitive edge.
Believe me – we will all be after that trophy!”

Tickets* for the 2014 Isle of Man Darts Classic in association with Poker Stars are available now from www.villagaiety.com or by calling the Villa Marine ticket hotline on 01624 600 555. Early booking is advised.
