Dan Kneen won yet another road race in Ireland yesterday, to continue his domination of the national season there.
He took the chequered flag in the feature race at Walderstown in County West Meath, to add to his victories at Cookstown, Tandragee, Kells and Skerries.
As with most of the circuits that he has raced on since joining John Burrows's Cookstown/Burrows Engineering team this season, the 27-year-old had never even seen the circuit before the weekend.
Kneen said, “I got my first look at the circuit when we did two laps in the van in the dark on Friday evening.
“It still doesn’t feel like I know the place and before racing began today I hadn’t done a lap in the dry that wasn’t behind a marshal.”
The meeting also saw the return of William Dunlop, who was racing for the first time since breaking his leg at the TT.
