Wi-Manx bought out

by isleofman.com 11th July 2014

The Elite Comms Group, set up in Douglas late last month, has made its first acquisition.

The company, based in Athol Street, has bought out Manx-based hosting and ISP Wi-Manx.
Wi-Manx, which was founded in 2004, is a datacentre, cloud, voice and network solutions provider.
In a statement, Elite says the move will give it a highly skilled technical team as well as a state of the art datacentre – and Wi-Manx customers will gain access to the group’s next generation network.

Elite Comms Group Director Kate Hegarty says the deal is important to the company for strategic reasons – with hosting and network solutions vital for future growth.
Wi-Manx Managing Director Joe Hughes says the deal will deliver business growth, a range of new and innovative services for their customers and enhance their existing portfolio of products, bringing many benefits to the Isle of Man.
Wi-Manx will remain the only wholly Manx owned communications, ISP and datacentre provider operating in the market.
