Digital currency summit aims to attract business

by isleofman.com 11th July 2014
More than a hundred Bitcoin and digital currency specialists are expected to gather on the Isle of Man later this year for the inaugural Crypto Valley Summit.
KPMG and the Manx government are teaming up to host the event on Wednesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 18.
It’s hoped it’ll attract off-Island entrepreneurs who’d be interested in opening digital currency businesses here.
Director of e-Business Development at the Department of Economic Development Peter Greenhill says the summit reflects the Island’s commitment to the sector and sends out the message we’re open for business.
Industry commentator and lead organiser Paul Davis of the Manx Digital Currency Association says with the momentum gained by both the formation of the Manx Digital Currency Association and the government’s recent announcement it is open to registering digital currency businesses, the Island is at the forefront of this burgeoning sector.
He says this event is an opportunity for people with above-board digital currency businesses to find a supportive home.
