by isleofman.com 8th July 2014

Chase Wealth Solutions are pleased to announce that Jon Barwood has been appointed as a Financial Adviser, specialising in Investments and Lifestyle Cash Flow Planning. Jon completed his level 4 qualification in style with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), achieving 92% in his final investment examination. Working alongside Jon is Laura Critchley, currently a trainee, specialising in Investments and Pensions, and already a Chartered Financial Planner.  Laura has just learnt that she has been awarded the Layborn prize for receiving the highest mark in the whole of the UK in the CII Diploma Level JO6 Investment paper “Investment Principles, markets and Environment.

In the mortgage division, trading as Financial Options, Mike Stringer has also passed his final CeMAP examination to become a fully qualified Mortgage Adviser.

Company founder Gerald Chase commented: “We are delighted with the success of our staff in achieving such excellent results in their examinations. We take training extremely seriously here at Chase and we believe it is essential to providing outstanding advice and service to our clients. Jon, Laura and Mike are valuable additions to our team at Chase and will help us achieve our purpose, which is to provide a comprehensive “one-stop” financial solution to our clients. ”

Commencing January 1 2014, under the direction of the Financial Services Commission, all existing and new Financial Advisers, who are advising on Pensions or Investments, need to be qualified at level 4 or above. This has meant a lot of hard work for many advisers throughout the Financial Adviser community here on the Island, who have taken numerous examinations in order to reach this level.  Moreover, on top of achieving these new levels of qualification, new entrants to the profession now have to undergo a rigorous period of training and direct supervision before they can practice.  Although a time-consuming and a costly experience for Financial Advisers, the outcome has been better qualified and trained Advisers who the public can have great confidence in.

Chase Financial Services Limited provide a range of financial services, trading under the names of Chase Wealth Solutions and Financial Options. Financial Options specialises in the provision of mortgage advice and protection (primarily life assurance, income protection and critical illness cover).  Chase Wealth Solutions focuses on the provision of Investment and Pensions advice, having recently branched out into “Lifestyle Cash Flow Planning”.  This approach allows the company to offer skilled professionals in each specialist field of financial services, who can work together to provide comprehensive and holistic financial solutions for clients.

The firm was established in 1997 by Gerald Chase and now has 14 staff. Established initially to provide mortgage advice, the company has over 4000 clients on its database. The majority of the company’s business comes from repeat business from existing clients and in similar manner the majority of new business is generated following recommendations from satisfied clients.
