Conference offers know-how on global tax enforcement

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2014
Law firm Dougherty Quinn is preparing to host what could be a landmark Island conference on global tax enforcement.
The event on Thursday 3 July comes days after the implementation of the US and UK FATCA agreements, the much-heralded legal weapon to combat tax evasion.
The conference at the Villa Marina will offer local financial services firms and compliance officers advice on responding to requests for information and facing potentially gruelling tax investigations.
US law firms Latham & Watkins and Rosenburg Martin Greenberg are co-sponsors of the event with DQ.
All three companies have fielded expert speakers in their field for a panel which will also include a senior analyst at the US Inland Revenue Service criminal investigation department.
