You can also enter by e-mail to ianwatsonpts@manx.net. If you enter by e-mail you must ensure that your entry fee is paid before your first match. Each competitor will receive an Equiom sponsored

2014 T shirt.  The tournament starts on Saturday 5 July with finals day the following Saturday 12 July. Will the players that won last year’s events please return the perpetual shields, engraved, to the club office.

Congratulation to Laura Feely (20) who became Isle of Man triple champion last Saturday winning her three finals which were all played on Saturday at the club.

Besides winning the Women’s Singles Laura also won the women’s doubles with Elena Snidal and the mixed doubles with Oliver Broadhead. This comes on top of captaining the Loughborogh 2nd team to victory and being promoted to the top division. Well done Laura.

The adult coaching at the club on Tuesdays from 6 –7pm is proving popular – as usual Wimbledon has encouraged locals to take up tennis again. There are still a few places available on the course with details obtainable from Ian Watson 496293.

Tournaments are coming thick and fast and the next one will be the Chrystals Senior Open  which will be held from 1- 9 August. The committee would like to see some juniors entering as there will be a ratings format ensuring that lesser players don’t meet the Island champions in their first match. The bigger the entry the more even the competition. Entry forms available next week.

Thank you to the many generous members who sponsored our daughter, Julie, in the Snaefell Sleepover in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. She raised ?550 and appreciates the support she had from Albany. The club is noted for raising money for a lot of charities and hosting events like tennis and lunch for the Children of Chernobyl (Tuesday 22 July) – Jan Gaskill would like a couple more helpers (tel. 862144) and British Heart Foundation tournament on Monday August 4 the details for entry will appear later.

Finally, don’t our young players look smart in their new Auxesia Ltd sponsored shirts. Some mini and junior members have not yet collected their shirts please try and do so on Saturday between 12noon and 3pm.
