The Office of the Clerk of Tynwald is inviting applications for the post of Head of Tynwald Chamber and Information Service. The post holder is responsible for leading and developing the Tynwald Chamber and Information Service with the support of a team of 6.5 FTE.
This busy service supports Tynwald Members, Parliamentary Committees and the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald with library and research facilities. The library is also open to the general public and tours of the legislative buildings are provided. There is increasing focus on the use of the Tynwald website and other e-services. The service is also responsible for the compilation of Clerk of Tynwald’s Office publications, order and question papers and the administration of other chamber business.
The successful candidate will have proven ability to lead and motivate people and to get the most out of human and financial resources; a willingness to take on new challenges; ability to command the confidence of Members of Tynwald and the public; ability to produce accurate written work; strong IT skills; excellent skills in communication and customer service; and successful experience of delivering change management.
The post is being advertised initially for a period of two years due to the secondment of the current post holder. The annual salary will be between ?43,727 and ?55,226 together with the opportunity to be a member of the Isle of Man Civil Service pension scheme.
