Pinewood gets planning go-ahead

by isleofman.com 19th June 2014
The UK government has given the go-ahead for Pinewood Studios’ expansion plans in Buckinghamshire.

The proposals for 100,000 square metres of new studios, stages, workshops and production offices had been turned down by South Buckinghamshire District Council

But today, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Eric Pickles granted planning permission for the project.

The studio is part-owned by the Manx Government which spent just over ?12 million buying almost ten per cent in the company.

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare will face questions about the government-owned shares from Kate Beecroft MHK during next week’s House of Keys sitting.
