by isleofman.com 17th June 2014
Zurich International Life (ZIL) has won three accolades at the prestigious 2014 International Fund and Product Awards.

For the second year running it has been awarded the ‘Best International Protection Plan’ for ITA (International Term Insurance), ‘Best International Savings Plan’ for International Pension Plan – the fourth time in five years – and for the first time the company has been named ‘Best International Life Group’.

The awards – now in their 15th year – are organised by Professional Adviser magazine, and are held in high regard within the life industry. They are judged by an independent panel of life and investment industry experts. Their decisions are based on both quantitative and qualitative data, covering the following areas:

• Commitment to target market
• Level of consumer protection
• Appropriateness of product range and/or services
• Use of technology and product innovation
• Levels of service and support to distributors

After reviewing Zurich International Life’s award submission, Deborah Benn, Chair of the judging panel, commented: “The success of ZIL in this year's awards is underpinned by a clear emphasis on listening to customers and distributors. In awarding ZIL the ‘Best International Life Group’, the judges were struck by how ZIL has responded to increased regulation as well as the continual adaptation of products and services to meet target market needs, which has now been supplemented by greater online functionality.

“On an individual product basis, the ‘International Pension Plan’ continues to shine. It is not only offers a truly flexible design, but is extremely well supported and very competitively priced. Improvements to its ‘International Term Assurance’ plan combine simplicity with some extremely well thought through regional improvements that show ZIL understands protection needs and has a strong connection with local markets essential for global success. Overall, ZIL are worthy winners in a number of categories."

Clive Baker, CEO of Zurich International Life, is delighted by the company’s success at such a prestigious Awards ceremony: “Winning three International Fund and Product Awards is fantastic news, and testament to the hard work that we are doing to deliver exceptional products and service for our customers across all of the international markets in which we operate. It is very pleasing that this has been noted within the life industry. Being named ‘Best International Life Group’ is a particular highlight, and all of Zurich’s staff should be very proud of their achievements.”

Nigel Simpson, Head of Zurich Corporate Savings International, added: “Winning the ‘Best International Savings Plan’ award for the fourth time in five years demonstrates just how strong our corporate proposition is, and I am delighted that this has been noted by a panel of industry experts. This award is testament to the work we do to listen to our customers and deliver a product which meets their needs. I would like to thank all of the ZCSi team for their continuing hard work and success.”
