Equiom to continue support for local cricketer

by isleofman.com 16th June 2014

Equiom is proud to support Isle of Man cricketer Max Stokoe for the third year running.

The trust and corporate services provider will provide funds to enable Max to prepare for and compete in the ICC European Division Two Championships as part of the Isle of Man national team.  The tournament, hosted in Essex on 23rd to 28th June, will see teams from Germany, Norway, Austria, Gibraltar and Belgium compete for promotion to the Division One Championships.

Preparation for the tournament involved a trip to Liverpool and Southport in May to play against three English teams in order to gain experience playing on high quality grounds and perfect their skills.  It is hoped that this trip will prepare the team well for a win at the Championships.

Equiom’s Legal Director, Barry Smith, is also President of the Isle of Man Cricket Association.  He commented: “Equiom is proud to be able to support Max and the Isle of Man National Team and is confident that the Team will perform extremely well in order to progress Isle of Man cricket.  I am sure that Max and the Team will represent the Isle of Man with pride.”

Max commented: “I would personally like to thank Equiom for helping me to work towards my personal aim and team goal of the World Cup Qualifiers. We have been in partnership for 2 years now and I’m grateful for the continued support.”
