Crosby and Peel and St John’s have battled their way to the semi-finals of the Standard Bank Tinker Cup after a weekend ruined by bad weather.
All matches were washed out on Saturday without a ball being bowled, but two ties were quickly re-arranged for Sunday and the remaining first round games go ahead next weekend.
Peel and St John’s had a good eight wicket win at Ramsey, but the match was not going their way until Nick Hawke entered the attack.
The northern club were making progress when Nick struck with the remarkable figures of five wickets for just nine runs.
Connor Gilbert gave fine backing by taking four wickets for 10 runs as Ramsey were dismissed for 108.
In reply, Ollie Webster was at his stylish best in hitting a rousing 45.
Phil Litteljohns struck 41 not out as the Saints marched on to win by eight wickets.
At Marown, Crosby beat the Development Eleven in a good game.
Batting first, the juniors ran up 124 for nine with Jack Gerrard cracking an excellent 41.
Floris Venter and Harry Rothwell each took three wickets.
Danny Kniveton made sure Crosby made no slip-ups by scoring an unbeaten 53 not out. In reaching their target his side lost three wickets – all falling to Sam Mills in a very good spell of three for 21.
