by isleofman.com 27th May 2014
The Broadway Cinema in the Villa Marina is playing host to a week of special exclusive screenings of Kaleidoscope Entertainment’s “ROAD”, during TT 2014, a film by Diarmuid Lavery and Michael Hewitt which tells the story of the motorcycling dynasty the Dunlops, starring Robert, Joey, William and Michael Dunlop.

Narrated by Liam Neeson, ROAD is the adrenaline-fuelled tale of a family who have dominated road racing for over thirty years.

Robert and Joey Dunlop - quiet men from a rural village in Northern Ireland – were racers who risked everything to win and Robert’s sons, William and Michael, are two of the world’s leading road racers today. Young men determined to continue a family tradition.

ROAD features stunning action, candid race day scenes and a gripping narrative and tells the story of two generations of one family that have been united by both success and tragedy.

The film will be screening at the Broadway Cinema exclusively from Friday 30th May – Thursday 5th June and doesn’t open in UK cinemas until Wednesday 11th June. There will be two screenings daily at 4.30pm and 9.45pm.

David Cretney MHK, the TT Minister of Fun said:

‘I am proud that we have managed to secure special exclusive screenings of ROAD for TT 2014. The Dunlop family have long been close friends of mine and are legends in the Isle of Man as well as back home in Northern Ireland and have contributed so much to the sport. I’m sure that these screenings will be very popular so my advice would be to book early to ensure the best chance of securing tickets.’
