Victory for Cavendish on final stage

by isleofman.com 19th May 2014
Mark Cavendish has won the final stage of the Tour of California.
The ‘Manx Missile’ took the honours with what has become a trademark sprint finish, powering to the line from 200 metres out and winning by a tyre's width from John Degenkolb and Peter Sagan, who was pipped into third.
Cavendish, who also won the opening and fourth stages of the event, had to settle for second in the final sprint table, behind Sagan.
Sir Bradley Wiggins was the overall champion, becoming the first British winner of the Tour of California.
