Old Boys end Geordies' grand slam dreams

by isleofman.com 18th May 2014
A stunning first-half performance by Old Boys this afternoon ended St George's hopes of a second grand slam in three years.
They won the match 3-0, with all the goals coming in the first 45 minutes.
Old Boys were 1-0 up after just two minutes through a Robbie Ward free kick, then added to their tally via a Darren Hudgeon penalty and a volley from striker Callum Stewart.
Geordies were unable to break down their opponent's resolute defence in the second half.
