Junior joy for Rushen

by isleofman.com 15th May 2014
Rushen United have prevented their old adversaries from completing a combination league and cup double.
The southerners defeated Combination One champions Peel 5-3 at the Bowl last night to win the Ascot Hotel Junior Cup.
They twice came from behind after Daniel Corkill’s first minute goal secured a dream start for Peel.
Dale Corrin levelled for Rushen only for Aaron Costain to put the westerners back in front.
However, Rushen fought back with Ross Mulligan and Andrew Moody, on the stroke of half-time, giving them an interval lead.
Costain’s second left the match tied at 3-3 going into the closing stages before an impressive strike from Justin Hawley edged Rushen in front and Mulligan raced clear to clinch the silverware.
