Permanent Bank International (“PBI”) has appointed Aidan Doherty to the role of Managing Director of its Isle of Man business.

PBI has been established in the Isle of Man since 1994, and provides a range of international deposits accounts in Sterling and Euro. Mr Doherty began his career with the Bank of Ireland Group in 1977, moving to the Isle of Man in 1984 where he continued his career with Bank of Ireland until 1994. He then spent four years in the Cayman Islands in the private banking field, prior to his return to the Isle of Man in 1998 when he joined Singer & Friedlander (Isle of Man) Limited. His 37 year career in financial services, 30 of those offshore, has provided him with an in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly with regards to the needs of offshore private clients. Prior to joining PBI, Mr Doherty was the Head of Business Banking with Barclays Bank in the Isle of Man. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Doherty said:
